OnePlus CEO discusses decision to keep 3.5mm headphone jack

OnePlus already confirmed that the will have a but now CEO Pete Lau discussed the companys choice in more detail. We think the key takeaway is this: Its good to see a company take a stand against user-unfriendly, fashion-driven choices. But OnePlus didnt make this choice lightly. It queried its users preferences and considered the effects on sound quality. While is supported (by the 3T and 5), the team still believes that wired audio offers the superior quality. Especially if youre shopping on a budged and OnePlus users certainly care about value for money. Interestingly, the company pondered putting a second USB-C port on the phone. It would have enabled slimmer phones, but ultimately OnePlus decided that the second port will not be worthwhile. You can read Laus thoughts at the OnePlus forums (hit the source link). PS. We do hope the team would reconsider two USB-C ports. Those PC-modes by Samsung and Huawei would work even better if one port handles Video out and another is used for accessories.
