The new Amazon Kindle Fire HD 10 offers a 1080p screen for just $150
Amazon updated the Fire HD 10 tablet last year, but at $230 for an HD screen it wasnt so hot. But how does $150 for a FullHD screen sound? With double the storage to boot! Yes, the tablets are decidedly more attractive and their price is well into impulse buy territory. The new screen has an IPS panel that measures 10.1 with 1,920 x 1,200px resolution (224ppi). Thats up from 1,280 x 800px, which didnt really cut it for a 10 tablet. The Dolby Atmos stereo speakers are still on board. Amazon doubled the RAM and storage too. You get 2GB of RAM not much admittedly but better than the 1GB you got last year. And storage starts at 32GB (with a 64GB option), but theres a microSD card slot as well. The quad-core processor is the one thing that did not get upgraded though (it has two big 1.8GHz cores and two small ones). The tablet's battery is good for up to 10 hours of use at a time and Amazon boasts that its more durable than the iPad Pro 10.5. And, of course, Alexa comes built in, which is still the leading digital assistant (sorry, Siri). Here are the prices for the Amazon Kindle Fire HD 10 in the US and Europe.
